UcanACT official launch in Kilkenny, February 2024

The UcanACT pilot round 1 is just around the corner - our pilot territories will commence the physical activity pilot actions at local PUGS in mid-March in Kilkenny and Munich, and mid-April in Bologna, which will last for 9 to 12 weeks.

In Kilkenny, the physical activity pilot in public urban green spaces will be led by local physiotherapists at Mesh Park and the Gaol Road in Kilkenny, benefiting adults over 50, including people living with cancer and cancer survivors. Several local and national organisations are involved in the project, such as Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre, Trinity College Dublin, and the University of Limerick, in addition to UcanACT partners, Kilkenny City Council and Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists

Kilkenny authorities are committed to enhancing community well-being and promoting a healthier community for all ages. To mark the official launch of the UcanACT project in Kilkenny, the pilot territory hosted a visit from Minister of State for Public Health, Wellbeing & the National Drugs Strategy, Deputy Hildegarde Naughton, on 22 February 2024.
