Physiotherapy & Cancer Prevention
at the European Parliament
You're Invited!
The UcanACT Consortium is excited to welcome cancer researchers, advocates, policy influencers, and physiotherapy professionals to a special event this June 2025 at the European Parliament in Brussels.
Join us for an essential dialogue on shaping the future of cost-effective, self-managed cancer prevention strategies - highlighting simple yet impactful approaches to prevention across Europe.
The event titled Cancer Prevention through Physical Activity & Public Health Engagement – How Can Europe Act? - rooted in the UcanACT project - and kindly co-hosted by MEP Kathleen Funchion and MEP Giorgos Georgiou, will spotlight the vital role of physiotherapy not only in cancer prevention but also in supporting people living with and beyond cancer.
UcanACT is a collaboration of eight partners from five European countries, who researched, designed, and led safe physical activity programmes for people aged 50 and above, with or without a cancer diagnosis, in social outdoor settings in three pilot territories in Germany, Ireland, and Italy.
Our inspiring gathering will spotlight the vital role of physiotherapy not only in cancer prevention but also in supporting people living with and beyond cancer. Together, we’ll explore how physiotherapy is a core element of comprehensive cancer care - improving quality of life and supporting recovery.
👥 Who should join? Anyone working in - or passionate about - cancer, physiotherapy, and public health.
We’d love to see you there!
